Field groups operate as units attached to the National Institute for Technical and Vocational Education in accordance with an authorization of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic.
The main aims of the cooperation of external experts with the staff of the National Institute for Technical and Vocational Education include:
- Improvement of conditions for the process of creation of technical and vocational educational programmes,
- Adaptation of technical and vocational educational programmes to ever-changing qualification requirements on the part of employers.
Currently there exist 25 field groups which cover virtually all types of occupations which can be pursued by secondary school graduates. Field groups have been designed to deal most efficiently with issues pertaining to a certain group of applicable occupations.
Field groups tend to have 8 to 16 members. They consist of experts who know and monitor the recent developments in their respective fields, and from experts experienced in the creation of educational programmes. This composition allows collecting up-to-date information about the expected developments in the relevant type of occupation and their qualification requirements, and making relevant conclusions concerning specific technical and vocational educational programmes.
Field group activities are governed by the statutes approved by the Deputy Minister of Education.
The main joint objectives pursued by most field group members are closely related to the creation of the framework educational programme (CZ).
Field groups are managed by the staff of the National Institute for Technical and Vocation Education.
